- Covers the period 1545-1554, and the governorships of dom Ioaõ de Castro Garcia de Sá, Iorge Cabral, and dom Afonso de Noronha.
- This first edition of the third volume of Couto's continuation of João de Barros' "Asia" was almost entirely destroyed by fire in the printing office, and it is possible that the t.p. and preliminary matter were never printed. In this copy the t.p. to the fifth "Decada" with "qvinta" changed to "sexta", has been supplied.--cf. Brunet, v.1, part 1, col. 669, and Salvá y Pérez, V. Catálogo de la biblioteca de Salvá.
