  • With preliminary imprimatur leaf signed "A"; verso has engraving of the arms of the Royal Society.
  • The frontispiece is an engraving showing Charles II being crowned with a wreath and Francis Bacon and Lord Brouncker in an open with scientific instruments and books. It is signed: "Evelyn inv. D.DC" and "Wenceslaus Hollar f. 1667". D.I Duveen says: "This frontispiece was designed by Evelyn, but was only inserted in a very few copies" --Duveen, p. 558.
  • With two folded engravings of scientific instruments, unsigned.
