  • Plates are mounted India proofs, dated 1812-16, engraved by J. Greig from paintings by Luke Clennell and others.
  • The long introduction is by Scott, but references to him in the body of the text (as "Sir Walter Scott") indicate that it is by other hands, and of later date than 1814?
