- Found by the English postmaster in a Paris mail bag, this letter speaks "of the existence of a strong Jacobite party in Scotland, and of Louis XIV as still contemplating a Jacobite restoration;" it was "sumbitted by William to both houses as a proof of French perfidy."--cf.
