- Summary
- Scenic designer John Lee Beatty discusses his career, beginning with his studies under designer Ming Cho Lee, continuing with extensive work for the Circle Repertory Company, and concluding with his recent productions, including The last night of Ballyhoo and the 1996 revival of Edward Albee's A delicate balance. Mr. Beatty displays drawings of the sets for these plays as well as others, and also analyzes two of his designs he considers unsuccessful, for David Shire's Baby and Peter Nichols' Passion play.
