- Continues the line of argument from his Fast sermon of May 9, 1798 and his Thanksgiving sermon of Nov. 29, 1798,--i.e., a warning against secret societies in the United States, supposed to be furthering the interests of France and, in particular, against the so called "Illuminati" and their Masonic affiliations.
- With a list of the dignitaries and members of the Lodge "La Sagesse," in French followed by a translation in English, in the appendix, p. 36-45. Each section has an imitation title-page, paged in, that of the translation reading: Wisdom. No. 2660. Table of the brethren who compose the Provincial French Lodge, under the distinctive title of Wisdom: in the east of Portsmouth, in Virginia, state of North America. In the epoch of St. John, 5798.
