Summary

Footage recorded for a projected documentary on Mary Anthony, a modern dancer, choreographer and teacher. Dancer-choreographer Glen Tetley looks back on his long friendship with Mary Anthony, whom he initially met as a teacher and fellow dancer at Hanya Holm's studio in the mid-1940s. He describes her dance classes, which emphasized the exploration of space, and her qualities as a dancer, which he observed while performing with her in Holm's Ozark suite. He shares his memories of Holm, whom he and Anthony both assisted in choreographic works, and remembers Anthony's lifelong devotion to her. In summarizing Anthony's special qualities, he particularly emphasizes her integrity and purity of vision.
