Summary
Daily rushes for Nureyev, a television profile of Rudolf Nureyev. Nureyev, alone, rehearses excerpts from Maurice Béjart's Songs of a wayfarer [Chant du compagnon errant], a ballet for two men; he also dances a very brief fragment from the male variation of the Don Quixote pas de deux at ca. 32 min. into the tape. The first 3 min. of the tape have an unrelated soundtrack; subsequent sections may or may not have audio, and some are filmed in slow motion. Nureyev occasionally confers with the pianist, Babette Cooper, on- or off-camera. In an interview with Mavis Nicholson, beginning at ca. 35 min. into the tape, he discusses various topics, most of them dance-related.
