  • Colophon (leaf D6r): Auctores octo opusculorum cum co[m]mentarijs diligentissime eme[n]dati ...
  • Attribution of the Catonis disticha to Cato, the Censor, is spurious; later attribution to "Dionysius Cato" based on a falsification by Simeo Bosius. Cf. GW, VI, col. 265.
  • The Facetus was formerly attributed to John of Garland.
  • The Cartula (Contemptus mundi minor) and the Floretus are wrongly attributed to St. Bernard of Clairvaux. The former is sometimes wrongly attributed to Bernard of Cluny, author of another work titled "De contemptu mundi." Cf. introd. by A. Orbán to Liber floretus. 1979, p. vii.
  • "Thobiadis" is the Tobias of Matthew of Vendôme.
  • The Aesop is the Latin metrical version of the Fables by the Anonymus Neveleti (i.e. Walter of England?).
  • Imprint from colophon, where year is expressed in Roman numerals: Anno D[omi]ni M.cccc.lxxxxiiij ...
  • The Auctores octo with commentary was first published in Lyon by Jean du Pré, 31 Dec. 1488. Cf. GW 2780.
