- Ms. Shaw describes the origins and goals of the Gender Project, the Project's structure as developed by herself and co-founder Ellis Wood; Shaw's background and training; having to choose between her passions for skiing and for dance; her early career and issues of gender discrepancy that arose; joining the Bill Evans Dance Company and her experiences there; starting her own dance company; returning to New York; the confluence of personal and career issues that arose at this time; new directions in her choreography; learning to balance her work and personal life; her recent work with horses; the element of sexuality in her work.
