- The Negro Labor Committee was founded in 1935 to organize black workers into unions, end discriminatory practices against blacks in labor and management, and establish solidarity between black and white workers.

- Biography
- The Negro Labor Committee was founded in 1935 to organize black workers into unions, end discriminatory practices against blacks in labor and management, and establish solidarity between black and white workers. One of the Committee's organizers, labor activist Frank R. Crosswaith, served as chairman for many years. The Committee also opened the Harlem Labor Center, at 312 West 125th Street, as labor's home in Harlem.
