- The masterwork of the first century B.C. Greek historian known as Dionysius of Halicarnassus is his history of Rome, from prehistory to the First Punic War. This sixteenth-century edition was published in Paris, and is accompanied by a variety of supplemental materials, including commentary on the arrangement and structure of the work; comparisons between Dionysius and other Greek historians and rhetoricians; chronologies of Roman history; the enumeration of Roman law; and additional history on the origins of Rome.
