Topics include: the Silayan dance company, founded by Capadocia's mother as a folk dance group, and transformed by Capadocia into a multiethnic company ; her dance training ; the fusion of western and traditional Philippine dance forms in her choreography.

Charlip, a past participant in The horse's mouth performances, discusses reasons for its appeal ; repressive attitudes toward art in the U.S. ; his work as a visual artist and writer as well as a dancer ; his dance training and experience ; the appeal of dance to gay men ; projection and receptiveness in dance.

Cunningham, a co-director of The horse's mouth project, discusses its evolution and longevity ; its tendency toward greater inclusiveness ; the importance of human connection in the piece ; the strength it derives from being a theater-dance piece, with a spoken component.

Dale, a past participant in The horse's mouth performances, comments on his perceptions of the piece, including its increased feeling of connection. He reminisces about Jerome Robbins, with whom he danced for many years, telling anecdotes about the shows West side story, Gypsy, and Jerome Robbins's Broadway. He also relates other stories drawn from his long career in musical theater.
