Summary
Performer John Raitt discusses his career in musical theater with author Nicholas Van Hoogstraten, emphasizing his work with Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II in the original Broadway production of Carousel, and with George Abbott in the original Broadway production of The pajama game. Mr. Raitt also discusses his experiences in the national touring company of Oklahoma!, in various summer stock roles, in the live television broadcast of Annie get your gun (1957) opposite Mary Martin, and in A joyful noise, the short-lived "rock musical" of 1966 which represented the first choreographic work of Michael Bennett.
