- "A harlot's progress is based on a set of engravings made in 1732 by William Hogarth. Hogarth, a great painter and engraver, was also among the most popular political satirists of his time, and is now cited as a master of dramatic narrative. Hogarth's ruthless indictment of the moralities of the 18th century's lower, upper, and emergent middle classes translates powerfully to our own time." --Program.
- Includes an alternate version of one scene, the entr'act entitled "Moll inflated," taped separately on the same date as the rest of the play, after the performance. This sequences runs 4 minutes.
