Summary
Two short interviews with Magali Messac. Interview 1: [Beginning of recording is cut off.] Magali Messac discusses her beginnings with American Ballet Theatre and invitation to join the company by Mikhail Baryshnikov; the injury that prevented her from touring with ABT; her roles for the 1982 season with ABT and her training as a base for the range of work with ABT. Interview 2: Magali Messac discusses Mikhail Baryshnikov's influence on American Ballet Theatre's style; Baryshnikov's transition from dancer to artistic director; the lack of rehearsal time and lack of coaching at ABT; increased opportunities for younger dancers at ABT; the current direction and style of the company; her work with John Neumeier; her hopes the future at ABT.
