Summary
Documentary on the long and difficult process of unionization by a group of exotic dancers in San Francisco. The program is narrated by Julia Query, a dancer and stand-up comedian, with commentaries by others, identified by their stage names or first names. They discuss what led them to work in the sex industry ; the strength and feminist attitudes of women in the industry ; and the exploitative, discriminatory and often dangerous working conditions that led them to unionize. The general prejudice against the sex industry is illustrated by a subplot depicting Julia Query's difficulties in revealing her occupation to her mother, Dr. Joyce Wallace, an advocate for prostitutes' rights.
