Summary
Christopher Wheeldon rehearses members of the Boston Ballet in his version of The firebird. In the first 3 min. of this tape, he and others are seen in the company's costume shop, where various headdresses and costumes designed for the production by Ian Falconer are on view. The following 86 min. depict rehearsals of the choreography for Ivan, the Firebird and a second bird character. Two casts are depicted: Simon Ball (Ivan), Adriana Suárez (the Firebird), and Romi Beppu [bird] ; and Aleksandra Koltun (the Firebird), possibly with Yuri Yanowsky (Ivan). In the final 35 min. of the tape, Wheeldon rehearses the ensemble of princesses ; this rehearsal continues on *MGZIA 4-5014.
