- Description
- 1 videocassette (VHS, NTSC) (42 min.) : sd., col.; 1/2 in.
- Summary
- Instruction in the Italian dance suite Nido d'amore (The nest of love), reconstructed from Fabrizio Caroso's dance manual Nobiltà di dame (1600). The four-part suite consists of an opening, galliard, saltarello and canary (or canario). Carol Téten not only teaches the steps and movements of the dance suite but explains their historical background and the subtext of the actions. Following the instructional part of the tape, the entire suite is danced twice in costume with music, first with Téten's voiceover description of the subtext, then without commentary.
