- Summary
- Official videotape of the event. Scenes from an intertribal Native American powwow. Following the grand entry and welcome speech are dance competitions in various categories (see below) ; the gourd dance ; dances and music by the Eskimo group Northern Flight, from Kotzebue, Alaska ; and the awards ceremony from the Miss Indian World contest. Also included are interviews with dancers, singers, musicians, judges, observers, and vendors from the associated Indian Traders Market ; interviewees include an Australian Aborigine who discusses the making and playing of the didjeridu, and Randy Vasquez, an actor on the television series JAG. A brief excerpt from a speech by Al Gore, then campaigning for President of the United States, appears after the closing credits.
