Ailey speaks about upcoming performances at the City Center of Music and Drama by the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater; new productions of Carmina burana by John Butler and Missa brevis by José Limón [music and commercials]. Ailey speaks about the history and plans of his company; Nicolau and Ailey discuss financial problems of dance companies in general and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in particular [music and commercials]; the ideology and ethnicity of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater; black women in dance; preservation of dance works.
