Paige speaks about her career beginning with her early training and dancing with Maude Baum's company (Eba Dance Theatre) in Albany, New York; moving to New York City and working as an administrator with the Soundance company; the influence of her athleticism and of gender on becoming a dancer; the absence of gender bias in her upbringing; gender inequities in the world at large and in the dance world; the influence of gender on her career; differences in how men and women in dance work and market themselves; gender issues expressed in her work and audience response; her feelings regarding the value of her work; coping mechanisms including the support of her husband and of Maude Baum; the need to address gender inequities in dance beginning with early dance training, especially in ballet; producing an all women performing arts festival (the Edgy Women's Festival) in Albany in 1999 and the media response.
