Survey of warriors' dances in different countries across the centuries, exploring their historical and cultural roots, purposes and functions (e.g., physical training, spiritual strengthening, spirit possession, preparation for battle), connections to various martial arts and military drills, relation to religious practices, and other ramifications. Paintings by Sid' Ali serve as framework and commentary. Brief descriptions of the dances or martial arts forms are provided by their performers and practitioners.
