Summary
In interviews interspersed with performance excerpts, Molissa Fenley talks about her choreographic approach ; her decision to disband her company and become a solo performer, and the artistic differences and challenges entailed by solo performance ; the development of her own system of training, and its influence on her choreographic styles. She discusses and dances excerpts from some recent works: Inner enchantments (music, Philip Glass), Threshold (music, Somei Satoh), State of darkness (music, Igor Stravinsky [The rite of spring]), The floor dances: requiem for the living (music, Henryk Górecki), and Bardo (music, Somei Satoh).
