The "contemporary" category, introduced in this year's competition, consists of a variation selected from works commissioned from five present-day choreographers (Katarzyna Gdaniec, Aimé de Lignière, Michèle Mengual, Giorgio Mancini, Pierre Wyss). The "free" variation is chosen by the entrant and/or his/her coach.
