- Description
- 1 videocassette (VHS) (45 min.) : sd., col. SP; 1/2 in.
- Summary
- The life and career of stage and screen performer Ruby Keeler (1909-1993) is examined through a combination of archival footage and interviews with friends, family members, and theater historians. Although Keeler's career is discussed, from her Broadway debut to her heyday in Hollywood movie musicals of the 1930s, the emphasis is on her personal life: her marriage to entertainer Al Jolson, her retreat from show business in the 1940s, and her family relationships.
