Summary
Rehearsal of excerpts from Act I, with some interruptions and repetitions. Beginning at ca. 16 min. into the tape, Rudolf Nureyev, the ballet's choreographer, works intensively with Isabelle Guérin (?) on Cinderella's Charlie Chaplin/Fred Astaire solo, particularly her duet, à la Astaire, with a coat rack. At ca. 40 min. into the tape Nureyev turns his attention to the dancing lesson sequence (involving the two stepsisters and the dancing master), but the camera focus remains on Cinderella as she continues to practice with the coat rack. Nureyev is subsequently seen demonstrating movements for the stepsisters and stepmother.
