Campbell and Erdman speak about the relation of mythology to artistic creativity; the meaning of the phrase "open eye"; the reasons Erdman became a dancer; meeting Martha Graham; development of Erdman's work from abstract dance to dance with a dramatic or narrative component; her works Transformations of Medusa and Ophelia; her work Sea deep: a dreamy drama; composers for dance, including Louis Horst; the concept of total theater; her work Solstice; the creating of her work Coach with the six insides; response to the work in Ireland and in non-English-speaking countries; her use of movement to express themes and character; elemental differences in the type of dance movements common in Asia and in the West; themes in James Joyce's novel Finnegan's wake; the roles of the female in mythology [ends abruptly].
