Summary
Five women of varying ages discuss aspects of their experiences as ballet dancers: the rewards and physical, artistic, and psychological demands and challenges of a career in ballet; setbacks and injuries; the ideal ballet body and peak performing age; retirement from performing, and seeking new careers and interests. At the close of the program, they offer advice to aspiring dancers. The program includes brief performance excerpts from Swan lake, Giselle, Serenade, Jazz/fools (performed by Judith Fugate and Medhi Bahiri), and other ballets.
