The tape begins with Robbins and pianist Richard Moredock leaving the studio. Robbins and Gould talk about their schedules and plans for further work. - Variations on I'm old fashioned is a ballet tribute to Fred Astaire, with music by Morton Gould, based on Jerome Kern's song I'm old fashioned, from the motion picture You were never lovelier (Columbia, 1942). The ballet premiered on June 16, 1983.
- This tape is one of 36 made between Sept. and Nov. 1982 for a projected documentary on the making of I'm old fashioned. DeWitt Sage, Joel Gold and John Goberman were involved in the project, which was never produced.
