- Description
- 1 videocassette (VHS, NTSC) (23 min.) : sd., col.; 1/2 in.
- Summary
- After a rehearsal of excerpts from Variations on I'm old fashioned, Jerome Robbins discusses the progress of the work with composer Morton Gould and pianist Richard Moredock. They discuss problems with the opening, the ordering of the variations and the music. After Robbins and Moredock leave the studio, Morton Gould is interviewed alone, probably by Joel Gold. He talks about the challenge of capturing the quality of Astaire in the ballet; the importance of being self-critical during the creative process; what it is like to work with Robbins. The interview is cut off abruptly. For the remainder, see *MGZIA 4-6194. For the rehearsal that precedes this conversation, see *MGZIA 4-6103, *MGZIA 4-6138, and *MGZIA 4-6137.
