- Summary
- Members of the American Theatre Laboratory perform a series of improvisational exercises in which one actor plays the part of a puppet and another the master controlling the puppet. The first exercise, repeated three times, enacts a confessional. The second exercise enacts the viewing of a dead body. Jerome Robbins leads discussion of the exercises.

- American Theatre Laboratory was created in 1966 by Jerome Robbins, with a $300,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The experimental theater workshop rehearsed several projects and created many exercises, but did not produce any shows. American Theatre Laboratory disbanded in 1968.
