  • Three decades in New York City (ca. 26 min.) / discussion of Saeko Ichinohe's activities as a dancer and choreographer in New York City, including her education at The Juilliard School, the formation of her company, her collaborations with American artists, and major concerns and themes of her work. Hector Tello, a notable member of her company, is also discussed. Dance excerpts include: Willow tree, Niwa, Bird in snow, Dosojin, Ryu (Dragon) from Imaginary beings from Japan, Yuki (Snow maiden), Stars 'n' stripes and cherry blossoms, Autumn leaves, Streams, Bamboo forest, Gosechi-no-mai, Junihitoe variation, Heian, and The tale of Genji.
