Summary
Dance interpretation of Valmiki's Ramayana, an epic whose popularity spans south Asia. This performance brings together Indian, Burmese, and Filipino dancers, who alternate in presenting the story's various episodes in their own dance idiom, music, and costumes. A narrator, accompanied by a modern dancer, introduces segments of the story. Descriptive subtitles also clarify the action onstage.
