Summary
Telecast of the thirteenth Kennedy Center Honors ceremony, honoring Dizzy Gillespie, Billy Wilder, Risë Stevens, Katharine Hepburn, Jule Styne. In addition to live speeches and performances, each tribute is accompanied by a brief biographical film, narrated by the tribute presenter, featuring documentary footage, photographs and film clips. A film clip of the White House reception, including a speech by President George Bush, follows Walter Cronkite's introductory speech. Production credits appear at the end of the tape.
