  • Discusses the physiological profiles of university, graduate, and professional dance classes and examines differences in oxygen uptake, heart rate, and the work to rest ratio. Partipating dancers wore telemetric gas analyzers for the duration of their class. Classes were filmed. Differences, if any, among the various groups are discussed. Modern dance class was found to be an intermittent exercise form and the work to rest ratios dependent on level of training and size of class.
