[Contains extraneous noise.] Robbins discusses his upcoming retrospective, Jerome Robbins Broadway, including the restoration and recreation of his dances; applying his earlier work to a new cast; the training of current Broadway performers; his admiration of the cast and his appreciation of the original material; more on reconstructing his dances; videotape as a means of preserving dance and the current problems in its use; changes in the Broadway musical since the 1960s; the logistics of producing the show; the presence of ballet-trained dancers in the cast; more on the difficulty of reconstructing his dances, especially Sleepwalker's ballet and the Times Square ballet; the unreliability of his memory in dance reconstruction and the loss of some of his work; dropping numbers from the show; his oversight of travelling versions of his shows such as Fiddler on the roof (1964); the importance of videotape in preserving choreography; reconstruction of the dances from A funny thing happen on the way to the forum (1962); the contemporary quality of the show and its portrayal of his life's work.
