Summary
Filmed in Buenos Aires, this documentary explores the many faces of the tango--dance, music, and poetry--as seen through the eyes of practitioners, aficionados, and more impartial observers. Interviews conducted in bars, nightclubs, and the cultural centers La Catedral and Parakultural reveal the importance of the tango as a means of emotional and artistic expression in the lives of the Argentine people. The interviews are interspersed with views of dancing and performances of music and poetry. Also on record is a meeting of the Asociación Amigos del Café Los Angelitos, a group organized to press for the reopening of a favorite tango venue.
