- [Contains extraneous noise.] Robbins discusses his upcoming Broadway retrospective, Jerome Robbins' Broadway, including the restoration and recreation of his dances, working with the cast, the training of current Broadway dancers; his appreciation for the original material in the show. Robbins discusses videotape as a means of preserving choreography; changes in the Broadway musical since the 1960s; the logistics of producing the show; the presence of ballet-trained dancers in the cast and on Broadway; more on the difficulty of reconstructing his dances, especially Sleepwalker's Ballet and the Times Square Ballet from On the town (1945); the unreliability of his memory in dance reconstruction and the loss of some of his work; the necessity of dropping some numbers from the show; his oversight of travelling versions of his shows such as Fiddler on the roof; more on the importance of videotape in preserving choreography; the reconstruction of the dances from the show A funny thing happened on the way to the forum (1962); the portrayal of his life's work in Jerome Robbins' Broadway.
