- Choreographers Jerome Robbins and George Balanchine discuss their collaboration on the ballet Pulcinella (1972) for the New York City Ballet's Stravinsky festival and on various other ballets; Balanchine discusses Igor Stravinsky's music and its influence on his work as well as the influence of composers Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky and Giuseppe Verdi; Robbins discusses the effect of Stravinsky's music on ballet; Balanchine discusses how he and Stravinsky worked together [stops abruptly; discussion resumes]. Robbins comments on his own choreographic process and on Balanchine's collaboration with Stravinsky and its impact on ballet [break; discussion resumes].
