Elisa Monte speaks in general terms about her own performances and works, and about artists such as Molissa Fenley and Sarah Rudner; her relationship with the Pilobolus Dance Theatre, including her collaboration on their work Molly's not dead; her work Treading and its performance by the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater [includes almost inaudible comments by an unidentified male speaker]; the designer Marisol [Marisol Escobar]; Monte's career goals and development, including her desire to choreograph while continuing to dance for Martha Graham; more on Treading, as expanded for five dancers, including the origin of the title; her Italian family background; learning roles from Graham; Graham's attitude toward revivals of her work; Rudolf Nureyev's dancing of Graham's work [ends abruptly].

- Interview with Elisa Monte conducted by David Sears on March 29, 1981, at her studio [in New York City?]. The sound quality of disc 2 is poor; it is marred by extraneous noise, and a substantial part is almost inaudible. The interview may have been in preparation for Sears' article Elisa Monte: splitting time, published in Dance news, May 1981, p 1-2.
