Summary
  • Jerome Robbins, assisted by ballet master Christine Redpath, directs a rehearsal of excerpts from The concert. The first 23 minutes contain a rehearsal of the Mistake waltz, with many repetitions. The next 20 minutes includes several run-throughs of the opening of the ballet (Berceuse, op. 57). Robbins gives corrections and discusses the interpretation of the choreography.
  • Jerome Robbins, assisted by ballet master Jean-Pierre Frohlich, directs a rehearsal of excerpts from Fancy free. The rehearsal runs from the sailors entering the bar for the first time to the sailors dancing with the girls in the bar, just before their solos. The pas de deux is rehearsed by Robert La Fosse and Judith Fugate (also by Kipling Houston and Stephanie Saland, at the back of the studio). Robbins gives corrections and discusses timing and choreography.
