Summary
Excerpts from a ballet inspired by Lord Byron's life and poetry, and set to Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky's Manfred symphony. Includes a brief excerpt from scene 2, followed by excerpts from scene 3, in which Manfred/Byron dances with his Italian mistress, the countess. Reality intrudes when his friend, the poet Shelley, is drowned.
