Summary
Jerome Robbins directs a rehearsal of the sixth variation from I'm old fashioned. This tape begins with Robbins speaking to Victor Castelli as he leaves the studio. The version of the sixth variation rehearsed here is a duet for male and female dancers. Maria Calegari and Darci Kistler both rehearse the female role; this part was cut from the final version of the variation, which was performed as a male solo. There are many interruptions and repetitions as Robbins develops choreography. Composer Morton Gould observes the rehearsal.
