Summary

Excerpts from a ballet in two acts, danced to music by Adolphe Adam. Compilation of footage filmed at three or more performances. The excerpts, shot from the same camera angle, have been edited into their proper sequence to provide a continuous though not complete picture of the ballet. The film focuses on the principal dancers; for example, Giselle brings forward the two dancers of the peasant pas de deux, but the actual pas de deux was not filmed. The camera is occasionally unstable, and some segments of Act II are grainy.
