Summary
Excerts featuruing various song and dance performances by Latin American and Spanish artists from the New York Shakespeare Festival's Festival Latino en Nueva York at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The first 140 min. of the tape contain exerpts from the variety show Cumbre flamenca featuring flamenco song, guitar playing and dance. Next, are 10 min. of footage and interviews with audience members outside the theater. The next 15 min. feature jazz singer Eugenia León who performs several songs. At 165 min. an unidentified male musician performs instrumental music from Nicaragua. At 177 min. an unidentified female singer performs songs from various Latin American sources. The last excerpt (at 222 min.) features performances of tango dance. Content ends at 248 min.

Billed in a 1988 program as "the most important cultural event in the United States of America," the festival supported the "full range of Latino dramaturgy" in the United States with work that engaged the contemporary Latino audience and aimed to promote cross cultural understanding. Annual festivals featured a mix of theater, dance, music and film from Spain, Portugal and Latin America, performed in Spanish, English, Italian and Portuguese, or in combination.
