Summary
The first segment on this tape contains a presentation honoring Martha Graham during the first appearance of the Martha Graham Dance Company at Jacob's Pillow. Liz Thompson, director of Jacob's Pillow, speaks about Graham's influence. Kitty Dukakis reads a proclamation from her husband, Governor Michael Dukakis, declaring June 24, 1984 Martha Graham Day in Massachusetts. Mrs. Dukakis speaks about how she was inspired to become a dancer after seeing Martha Graham. The second segment on the tape records the curtain calls following a performance of Diversion of angels. The performance is not on this tape. Martha Graham joins the company for the curtain calls and is presented with flowers.
