- Frances Sternhagen discusses her acting career with longtime friend, playwright Joan Vail Thorne. Beginning with her family life and decision to study drama, Sternhagen covers her days with the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., her studies with Sanford Meisner, and her professional experiences with such colleagues as Richard Burton, Helen Hayes, and Alan Schneider. She also explores the differences between acting on stage and in film.
