Description
1 videocassette (VHS, NTSC) (161 min.) : sd., col.; 1/2 in.
Summary
Tribute marking the tenth anniversary of Rudolf Nureyev's death, held on his birthday, March 17. The program included excerpts from his versions of three classical ballets: Raymonda, Swan lake, and La bayadère. Also on the bill were José Limón's The moor's pavane, which he frequently performed with his company Nureyev and Friends; and Le chant du compagnon errant, also called Song of a wayfarer, which Maurice Béjart choreographed for him and Paolo Bortoluzzi in 1971. The program also featured a documentary film, shown in segments between the live performances, and projected onto two small screens. A full-screen version of this film, with its sequences in slightly different order, appears on: *MGZIA 4-4375 RNC Hommage à Rudolf Noureev.
