Summary
Opening ceremonies for the exhibition Nurejew und Wien, ein leidenschaftliches Verhältnis [Nureyev and Vienna, a passionate love-affair], organized by the Österreichisches Theatermuseum in Vienna in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of Rudolf Nureyev's death. Five speeches (ca. 36 min.) are followed by a performance of Tranced (choreography, Bernd Bienert; music, Raymond Yiu; danced by Gabriele Haslinger), a dance solo that is recorded three times from different angles (ca. 24 min.). Views of the exhibition galleries begin at ca. 60 min. into the tape, opening with footage of a related exhibition, Das Tanzgenie der Russen: 100 Jahre russische Tanzkunst in Wien. The exhibition Nurejew und Wien included photographs, video, costumes, an armored horse [probably from Nureyev's production of Raymonda], his motorbike, and the street sign from the Rudolf-Nurejew-Promenade in Vienna.
